Morgius Dj

Morgius DJ (real name Giuseppe Morelli) is a DJ born in Bari on May 6, 1971, who has gained extensive experience in the music field. At just 15 years old, together with a cousin, he enjoyed "imitating" the songs of the time using only his mouth (basic beatboxing). At 18, thanks to a friend of his father, Morgius joined a local radio station (Radio Luna Network) where he truly learned the art of DJing, using the media of the time (turntables, cassettes, and music reels). He stayed there for about three years, then moved to Seregno (MI) for work to take a basic graphics course, where he also discovered alternative music such as new wave, dark and alternative music and artists ranging from Depeche Mode to Soft Cell, via Enigma, Era, Gregorians, etc. With the arrival of music software in the '90s, Morgius managed to create his first tracks (still unreleased today) and also discovered how to remix without the aid of turntables and mixers. His influences grew, and house music became the DJ's creative foundation. He became acquainted with various labels, including the famous Defected House, and "studied" the various DJs who created masterpieces that still play on the radio and online today. '90s rap was also present, of which he says, "Real rap music is that of the '90s... Black Music, so to speak." He frequented clubs where some of his DJ friends played (both house and hip hop), and after years, he returned to an online radio station (Mg Radio – Radio Orsa), creating ad-hoc programs in the genres he has always loved. He still creates remixes and original tracks, recalling that during the COVID period, he participated in a project with a singer (Edmea) for an alternative music CD. In short, Morgius Dj SERIOUSLY knows all musical genres, even managing to "separate by ear" a single musical instrument, to then resample it in his remixes.
